Bruce Vanderwort's double doors are also excellent.  His "B.O.B." (Beaver, Otter Bobcat) Traps feature a Conibear type trigger and can also be used under water for beaver and otter.  Bruce's BOB traps are COLLAPSIBLE so you can get way more of them in your truck and they are more easily manpacked.

Do they have spring loaded doors that are recessed?


I'm not sure what you mean by recessed.  As you can see from the picture, Bruce's BOB traps have doors with very strong springs and they open and close from the inside.
The doors are inside the trap when set/loaded. Thanks!

The eastside cats are very spooky. Back when I trapped. them with footholds I had far better luck with trail sets.
