Non resident question
« on: May 19, 2020, 06:53:08 PM »
I know...i know. But i need a little help here. Im trying to apply for some permits but for the life of me i cannot add a license to my cart because it states that i dont have a hunter safety certificate (i have one, just in my state of residency). Ive tried calling and emailing WDWF but they are closed/not responding.

Any pointers fellas?

I would suggest emailing a copy of your state's hunter education certificate to WDFW's Hunter Education department and ask them what to do: huntered@dfw.wa.gov

Do you have your certificate in your posession currently? Maybe try taking that to a license vendor like Fred Meyer or Big 5 and attempt to purchase your license/tags in person. No promise that will work but given our current state of affairs and the permit deadline looming its worth a shot. Hope it works out for you!

Also there was a hunters ed deferral program that would allow someone to purchase a license/hunt for a year with a co-signer with 5 or more years of licensing in this state. I don't know if that would qualify you for permits though.

Unfortunately Im down here in Alabama. I was hoping to get in on some permits before the deadline but its not looking good.

I was considering doing the hunters education for WA state but im not even sure or how that would be recognized by WDWF before the deadline.

You still have two days. You might be able to get a hold of a WDFW employee in time, if you're lucky. Although when I emailed them on May 4th I didn't get a reply back until May 8th. Definitely would be better off if there was more time, but try emailing them at licensing@dfw.wa.gov. You might give them a phone number to call. Also try calling the licensing division at 360-902-2464. Leave a message and ask for them to call you back. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck. With a deer and elk license being $750 and a permit application being $110 per specie you deserve to get drawn. :chuckle:

I have been waiting on a phone number change for 3 months . I don't think anyone is working now.?
If I need a permit and education to buy a firearm than women should need a permit and education  before getting an abortion.
