I gotta go with LabChamp here. Makes no sense to me that any changes can be made after the submission deadline.

We had a person familiar with the draw process posting on here several years ago, and I believe he said the week after the deadline is used to contact people who made mistakes on their applications so they could be fixed.

I think they should move on and ghost you if you made a mistake. The month we have to submit takes away any kind of excuse imo and if you can’t read the numbers next to hunt choices, how are you supposed to count points in the field
until your the guy that makes a mistake lol

Nope, wrong on that one. If I screw up I’ll be the first to accept the consequences of my actions. I’ve missed a year here and there not applying and wasn’t by choice. I just forgot. It is what it is.
gotta give people what there paying for for example if i went into a store and bought a shirt a size to small and they didnt let you swap in for the right size would i shop there again hell no wdfw needs revenue which means returning customers there already hurting judging by all the advertising for permits they did

if you bought a concert ticket a month in advance and it says on the ticket venue starts at 7PM and you got to the concert 2 hours late, you expect the band to wait for you to make sure you get what you paid for?

How can someone make a mistake? If you pick the wrong weapon type for the hunt it won't let you submit and you have too pick the correct one. That used to happen years back but they fixed that.

If I remember correctly, some of the mistakes, or maybe most, was the people who purchased applications but forgot to submit them.

You can change your choices up to the deadline so why have a deadline. If you messed up you messed up it's a pretty simple process these days too submit a application and pick the right hunt.

I would have to agree with the guys that say once the deadline hits, it should be closed and the process to get the draws done started. The application period is already late enough in the year and every few days earlier we get the results back, the easier it is to work out travel plans, vacation etc for any tags drawn.  :twocents:

What if someone wanted to change tags (before the deadline) and it took until a week after the deadline for wdfw to respond and cancel that tag?

Should the hunter suffer because wdfw is slow ro respond to inquirys for changes?

It really doesn't bother me either way, sounds like in that scenario they could change to points only for the year?  It just seems different than a lot of other aspects of life, where if you miss a deadline you are out of luck and someone else that was on top of things gets the benefit of meeting the deadline.

The what if game. What if it was simple. You waited too long to change your mind and missed the deadline. Next year you won’t make that mistake and everyone sees results a week to 10 days earlier every year

I have to agree too! We had ample time to verify, submit and reverify even. If you screwed it up it should be on you!

Maybe people have to call the WDFW after the deadline and say they forgot to submit their application. I don't know. I just know we were told they spend a week fixing all the mistakes.

Any fake reasons for not abiding by the set deadline and other delays just leads to suspicions about the eventual drawing being fair and above reproach.

The reason for the delay was/is because people forgot to apply but had purchased the application before the deadline, last minute “Larry’s” I guess but I think I was told that process only takes a few days.

I feel like its good on wdfw for accomodating people while still consistently getting results out before they say they are going to.

Not really sure why people expect them to happen instantly when wdfw always shpws they will be done before the end of june. Its just not that big a deal.
