Drew 2 cow elk tags.  Both in Alkali.  One regular and one 65 and over.  Guess I call the game department and pick one?  Hope I get my points back for the other!  Anybody else ever have something similar happen?

And.... I hope the unit is open this year!
It doesn't work that way.  You will be re-zero'd in both categories.  You can hunt both hunts but the minute you kill an elk the other permit becomes void because you can only kill one elk per year.  I drew a bull tag and a cow tag this year and I'm in the same predicament that you are in.  You cant return a tag and get your points back.

Well that sucks.  These are identical tags in the same unit at the same time.  I'll probably be pissing up a rope, but plan on calling them to discuss.  Kind of unfairly eliminates one tag for other people in the drawing.  There's hardly any tags left to draw as it is!

Good luck with that 8 years ago drew quality elk and cow in cowiche   both me and my dad and 2 other hunters we met same.deal they told us all to beat it . And that's not how they do business

In 2017 I drew both quality and bull elk, they told me I had to keep them both, but could only use one.  This is a crappy policy that needs to be changed!  Not only do you lose points, somebody else doesn't get to use the tag that you can't use.  You would think that you could pick the one you wanted and maybe the other tag could be donated to a veteran, or youth :dunno:

My daughter and I drew Green River modern firearm Oct.17th-23rd. She had 14 points and I had 8. I think we got lucky.
deer or elk? My dad drew disabled any buck tag.  I’ve hunted it before and it’s not like it was many years ago, but still a cool place to be in. You can bear and cougar hunt in there even if you tag out, do it if you can.
Yeah, should have posted quality elk... I'm excited.

I drew a second deer tag for the Central Okanogan area - if I choose to use it I'll probably just shoot one from my brother's porch  :chuckle: First thing I've drawn in this state since a cow tag in 2016

congrats. It’s a good tag and should have plenty of chances at a good whitetail.
