Drew a late muley tag I've been after a few years. Definitely a good year for it to happen since I was one of the guys that didn't think OTC tags would sell out in June. It saves my season and if I can get a decent buck from it it means I can move on to trying to get OIL tags from that unit from now on.

Getting information on 45 is really difficult. That’s a good season (I had the August tag which had a great success rate but not a very enjoyable hunt in my opinion). That’s a super easy unit to look at on a map or google earth and see where the elk should be. Private land was a big issue for me but some of the largest landowners will give young kids permission. I would start there with on x and knock on doors this summer. Lots of roads and 4 wheeler trails everywhere except a few smaller areas of wilderness . They created a whole bunch of new tags and seasons for elk in there starting last year so I don’t know if that will stay good hunting for very long.

Nothing in Idaho for me this year.  Looks like we'll be General Season Warriors again.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
