Yarrow is also a natural pain killer.  Its the little purple roots.  Don't believe me, chew one and see what happens to your mouth.

Superglue is awesome.  I cut my eyelid open one year snowboarding at White Pass.  The first aid person dumped some glue on it to keep it closed until I got to the hospital.  Took 9 stitches after it was all said and done, but the hospital said that having it glued helped with the scarring and kept it clean.

I usually carry a fifth of whiskey with me too for those really bad accidents!   :chuckle:

For the really bad ones a half gallon at least. Might run short with a fifth.
I've slowed down enough in my old age to finally let the game catch up to me

Ok, so here's my suggestion.  Hockey tape. I already carry electrical tape, but on a hike when your toes begin to burn, I wrap the offending toes with hockey tape and there's no more friction point to blister.

have to admit, the whiskey might taste better than chewing Yarrow roots. LOL

He's right, my little brother was a navy corpsmen with the marines over in the mideast.  He carried a compact triage kit with all of the above mentioned stuff.  Really handy when an ax goes into a shin, or a skinning knife slips into your other hand.

I asked a EMT buddy of mine about QuikKlot. He said it works great, but it creates heat which some people don't like. He recommended a product called CELOX. It works the same as QuikKlot, but it doesn't make heat.

I'll be ordering some before camping season.
