Favorite 7mm Mag Bullets

Gotta say it...

140 gr. Remington Core-Lokt. For some reason, my rifle loves these, clover leafs at 100 yds consistently, more than accurate and flat enough to do what I need. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well finally shot my new Christianson Mesa Long Range in 7mm mag. Topped it with a Vortex Viper LR 6x24 FFP. Shooting Federal Nosler Partition 160 Gr.
Shot Amazing. I love my new toy. I just need to get it out to the range a few more times and get some longer shooting in.

i shoot 162 gr eld-x. killed deer, sheep, elk and moose. hits like a mac truck.

I agree. It puts them on the ground with good shot placement.

 Partitions may not be the hair bun, paper puncher favorite, but for hunting they are money!

Totally depends on the rifle.  I just bought a Browning Max Long Range in 7mm Mag.  My son is thinking about buying my Remington 700 7mm Mag, so I bought 6 different brands of ammo and tested both guns.  The Browning liked the Hornandy Precision Hunter 162 gr ELD X.  The Remington liked HSM ammo with Berger 168 Gr VLDs.  The difference was significant.  And yes, one of the boxes I tested was Rem Core Lokt.

Is there any difference in the barrel length. My new gun has 26” barrel and 1-9 twist
I shot the federal premium nosler 160 so far so good. I do want to try a box of those 162’s though.
