418 nooksack
« on: June 12, 2020, 05:59:58 PM »
Hi 2nd year hunting big game I just drew 418 quality elk archery.  I'm looking and or asking for any advice or location's where to start scouting to do the special permit tag justice.  My only hunting has been mainly 648 wynoochee elk and swakane mule deer. My concern is do I put more time to wynoochee which I know pretty well or go all in for this permit tag in 418.  Let me know what you think and I appreciate all or anything that can help to get my first big game animal.

One is having a premium unit all to yourself, which most people will probably never draw, or hunt an OTC area that you can hit every year...

Nooksack is thick steep country with amazing views and the potential of a bull of a lifetime.

Gohunt odds put you at .09% odds with 2 points. Hunt it like you’ll never get the opportunity again.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

I drew the same tag but 17 years. Looking forward to this hunt and good luck!

All in on nooksack and don't think twice.  Better shoot the bow a lot too so when a rut crazy bull is screaming in your face you'll be able to get it done.  Have FUN!!!!

Congrats on your draws! To both of you! You guys should pair up and help each other out. To the 2 pt guy, you should beg and crawl for a knowledgeable Nook guy to take you out on your hunt. I bet there are some guys on here that would help you out. Forget about Wynoochie! Put everything you got into the Nook! Scout and study rut elk hunting and cherish the opportunity. You don't yet realize how fortunate you are!

Good luck! Enjoy your hunts!

Has to be a joke. No way someone is contemplating hunting an OTC tag and passing up the Nook. And if this is for real, and that tag goes unused, not unfilled, but UNUSED, I may throw up.  Not notching is one thing, not going is blasphemy
