Home made lighted nocks
« on: May 22, 2020, 09:55:40 AM »
Anyone shoot home made lighted nocks? I'm looking to start using them after losing my first deer last year, it's a long story for another thread. I'm looking at using the Thill Nite Brite bobber lights that I will be shooting with my FOB's (if you don't know what FOB's are www.starrflight.com. My question is what color is everyone favoring... red, green or yellow? I know it's a matter of personnel preference and what is most easily seen with an individuals vision acuity.
God Bless,
Scott

I tinkered with it for a while, never could come up with a more reliable and more durable design than store bought.  Was more just for fun

I lost my first deer last year and it has eaten at me all year. I know I hit her I heard the crack but only found a few drops of blood. I never found my arrow or saw it sticking out of her as I watched with my binos. A couple bucks spooked and all the deer ran off. There was no telling which one was her as they group split into three groups some going into trees, some into corn and the rest on the road around the corn. With my failing eyes I know if I had a lighted nock I would have been able to see the arrow and which one she was in the caos and exactly where my arrow had hit. All those what ifs one gets after losing an animal for the first time.  :bash:

Camofire has some lighted knocks for a great price

I won’t speak to their quality since I’ve never used them,  but for the price they’d be worth a try. Maybe someone can chime in.
