  • Is there anything better than hunting?
Idaho Elk.....Unit 45

12 year old drew the tag today.  What can we expect?  Are you better off to hit the opener with the rut going or hunt the last week once weather may push them down and make it easier?  We will make a few trips to scout in August and September but any tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Congrats on the draw! That's a fun hunt!  Hit up mrmykiss. He had the tag a few years ago. Let him know he has no choice but to help otherwise I'm not gonna tell him where his next big critter will be  :chuckle:

Did you go for the opener or what time during the hunt?  Be happy to hear from you if willing but Rob has given me a lot of help already.
