Anybody have a Savage 110 ultralight?
« on: June 21, 2020, 09:48:37 AM »
If you've got one what do you think?  Looks like a winner to me from the description of it with that Proof Research barrel and the weight.  Would be real nice in the 6.5PRC or 280AI.

Those calibers make sense to me.  If I didn’t already have a CA 6.5, I’d think about it.

I’ve looked at them. They look pretty sweet but only two in the mag. I like 3 lol.

Been comparing this to the CA Mesa. Both have really good reviews. I should just buy both and stop agonizing over which to buy.  :chuckle:

lol. I can’t believe that there that concerned about weight. I mean a little more plastic and one bullet. Isn’t going to make that big of a difference. Just don’t find to many mags that are only designed to hold two rounds.

I have one in 308.  Shoots good I like it, but the best way I can describe it is a $300 rifle with a $700 barrel if that makes sense.

What size groups are you getting from it? Hows the trigger?

Im not a big fan of the bladed trigger, but adjusted all the way down its not bad.  Have not shot it too much 168 gr berger hybrid hunters shot good bout 3/4 in at 100. Gonna try a couple other factory loads.

Makes perfect sense, thats one of the most important factors to me besides trigger, and I'm a fan of Savage's accutrigger.  Just like my AR builds, don't skimp on barrel or trigger, the rest is just cosmetics basically.  Their website shows the 280AI with a magazine capacity of 4, however I'd lean toward the 6.5PRC and it does say 2 on that one.

Am I wrong as wouldn't it be one in the chamber plus 2 in the clip?

My cousin got one in 6.5 prc a couple weeks ago, it shoots great. It is one in the chamber, 2 in the magazine. Not a big fan of the action, the shells grab quite a bit when you try to chamber one. Maybe that’s how all savage actions are, I’ve never shot one before.
