Sekiu, Neah bay
« on: June 24, 2020, 08:18:50 PM »
Heading to Sekiu for the July 1 opening. Really wanted to get out to Swiftsure. Looks like the reservation is closed. Does anyone know of any boat ramps that might be open near Neah bay. Or are there plenty of salmon already around Sekiu.

Thanks and good luck if your going that way.

Call Olsens/Masons
I’d bet they say 1-2 fish per boat
It’s the standard answer
If Neah bay is still closed your options are limited
Snow creek closed
Freshwater bay launch is shallow
Old silver king is private
Good luck and let us know how you do

It's going to be crowded with Neah closed so take into consideration you may not get moorage at Mason's, or van ripers. You may have to launch and retrieve every day.

I'll be up Sunday thru, well whenever I get bored.

My intel says you don't have to go to Swift yet.  And CQ will have some fish around in the 1st.

I’m not familiar with old silver king.where about are they and do you think they are open to launching. It’s too bad that Snow Creek closed. Stayed there a couple times. Really liked it. Hope they can re open.  Thanks for the info.

With Neah bay being closed. I planned on staying at olsons or van rippers. Both are first come first served. Going to arrive on Thursday. Hoping to get a spot. Coming from yakima. A long way to drive for a maybe. Lol

Old Silver king is at Pillar pt
It’s a private ramp
Call Curleys if your looking for a room
They take reservations
He has moorage also usually
You have to launch at Masons or Van ripoffs though
Good luck
I’ll be up myself late July early August

We just got back from finishing a week at Sekiu, for the most part fishing was really good. We average 15+ Fish per day but the average size was, in my opinion very small. Most a caught were around  1 to 3 pound chinook.  Between five of us we manage to bring home 12 keeper fish. There were mostly wild fish caught. If I can suggest anything I would fish extremely deep. We stayed in approximately 270 feet of water and dropped our Downrigger’s in 250+ feet, staying as close to the bottom as we could. We did not have any luck east of the green buoy outside of Olsons s resort. Everything was caught trolling west from the green buoy.

Wow glad you got fish on boat, crazy how small they were. I loved snow creek, sad to see that place die.
