I put my phone number on all my cameras in case someone wants to call me about what I see in the area I will gladly share. I finally got my first phone call from someone who found my camera and called to tell me it was hanging off the side of a tree from elk in the area messing with it, he hung it back up and checked and replaced the batteries for me! We got to talking and he was a local in the area and has hunted this spot for years. He shared his knowledge and I shared some photos that I've got. Flash-forward to this past Saturday and I went to pull all my cameras before season and sure enough he did change out my batteries with fresh ones as well as deleted photos that was pointed at the ground to free up some space (I know he only deleted the unnecessary photos because I had recovered the deleted ones just to verify if he was being truthful).
I must say this is probably a rare occasion to meet someone like this but thankful it happened. I also found one of his cameras and left him a little tip to cover the cost of batteries since he wouldn't let me pay him back via paypal.
I just thought I'd share that there are good people out there and maybe it will encourage others to do the same.
Has anyone found a bearded cow before?
