I did some scouting today.  Saw some sign and I have seen/heard turkeys in this area.  Lots of gobbling at another spot.  No snow around Spokane.

About 15 miles from Canadian border through Colville and Kettle Falls.  These two toms came to about 30 yards from me or so..

Heard tonight that they are moving up the hills. A buddy of mine in Chewelah said their up around the 3000 ft line in and out of the snow. They just showed up in the last couple days though. Still a fair amount working their way up.

Great pics. Hope to see that Wednesday morning if all goes well.

These are great pictures of birds. Kettle Falls is way up there - a 5 hour ride from Seattle. Must be nice to live close to turkeys. I have to drive 2 to 5 hours to find birds no matter what. Lots of birds around Cle Elum and that's only 90 minutes away but pretty choked with hunters. If you want to find birds without much pressure you need to make the long drive.

What am I doing wrong?? Been all over Colville and Kettle Falls, been up the mountains down the mountains, I have had one bird gobble and that was it. I did see 8 birds today all together, 1 tom 4 jakes and 3 hens, then thought I was good to go until I drove down the hill some and there was 3 camos setup. So like I said I have been all over Kettle falls East towards Republic. And still nothing, if someone has a tip would be greatly appriciated. I have gone as far North up the 25 as Deadman Creek..

Thanks

Wayne, yes spent a half day up there today, between there and back to bisbee mountain. Snow is way low this year I parked truck at snow level and then went cross country below the snow line and nothing, did not see scat, scratchings or any thing else. I called a little with crow call no reactions, called some with box call to try and get response and nothing

I don't like using the crow call in this part of the country.....get more success with a peacock, woodpecker, or an elk bugle...   did you go up Nancy Ck off of 395 headed north to Canada ?

Wayne, I have a peacock call , will try that and see if I get anything, I went up Nancy and up Deadman but kind of hard in that area, seems like everywhere I went up there it was posted signs, in the national forest? I am at a lost, going to go back where I heard the one bird tomorrow and just pound the ground a little and see what I come up with.
