Naches pass goat hunt
« on: June 24, 2020, 08:52:32 AM »
I know one of the people who got drawn for this hunt and I will be up camping 4th of July weekend at Lost Meadows in the unit. Never really been in the area wondering if there's anywhere to drive in my truck just to do some glassing. Doesn't look like there's a lot of roads on the map was wondering if any of them get up into goat country?

I don't think you will find goats from the road in that unit.
Can do day hikes but you will be better off backing in and spending multiple days in the high country.
I hunted it with a friend years ago.

That's what I was thinking after looking at the maps. Thanks

Not sure I'll be able to do much scouting then this camping trip going to have my 7-month pregnant wife and our one and a half-year-old son. Might just have to drive around and see what else we can see

Oh you can absolutely see goats from your truck. Drive up to Ravens roost and glass west and south. You'll see a few. May even be one or two standing around the parking area to the trailhead :chuckle:

You can see goats on fifes ridge and gold hill off of hwy 410 with a spotting scope. Go up the 1923? Or whatever road number that is that goes up fifes ridge past long meadow and can usually find goats up there that isnt that far of a walk from the road.

Second Ravens Roost. Also up 410. Stop and glass open areas up high and you will see them. Good Luck!
