Palouse Buck Tag
« on: July 02, 2020, 09:50:21 PM »
Hello everyone, I hope you were all as lucky as I was this year, drawing my very first WA special hunt tag for a Palouse Whitetail. I have some private land access near Pullman and plan on scouting and taking advantage of WDFW's private land access. I was hoping other members would be willing to share any pics of previous years' Palouse bucks, and any good, bad, or ugly experiences with any of the WDFW private lands in the area.
Thanks!

I don't have any Palouse pics, but congrats on the tag.

We'll be waiting for success pics.

Here’s 2009 and 2013.   I grew up in the Palouse so these pics are top end-ish farmland bucks.  Of course, there are always a few giants in farm country, but access, even for locals, can be tough to hunt them.

Get on the access early. As in now. Landowners fill up their spots early, or say they have filled up at least.

There are some really good bucks in there.  I grew up in the area and have hunted it with a muzzleloader for years.  Haven't hunted it during the muzzy season for 10 years or so but know people who still do.
A bad day out hunting is better than a good day at work!

With this hunt, access is everything.  And its not that easy to get good access unless you are willing to shell out the $$$$ or you know someone.
