One of the very few things in this world that needs no improvement or the “all new and improved for this year” moniker. Sometimes one of the original designs are the best I can kill a pony out to 400 easy with a .223. 😉

Not at all. I would take a fast twist .243 Win and heavies over a 7mm-08 any day. That being said, pretty much anything will slay game under 400 yards. A .30 Cal would be a option, seeing you already shoot a .243 & a .277 bore. .308 is just so vanilla. Not much excitement there and your .270 Will walk all over a .308. 6.5 is a option but it is so close to the .270 and the heavies in a .243. The “Nitch” is just hard to fill. You may just need to up the horse power/ case capacity and pick your poison bore diameter wise.
