Wife's 1st shed
« on: April 13, 2009, 12:13:10 PM »
Took my wife for a hike on saturday.  She found her 1st shed, I don't know who was more excited about it her or me.  She told me she could really get into this.  Down side is, the only thing that I found were ticks.

NO TICKS, NO SHEDS.  AND THAT'S HOW IT GOES FOR THAT.  SO IF YOUR NOT FINDING TICKS, YOUR NOT IN THE BRUSH, OR TREES WHERE THE HORNS ARE.  JUST MY THOUGHTS.  I ALSO HATE TICKS, BUT MY X ARMOUR KEEPS THEM OFF EVERYWHERE BUT THE HAIR.  AND USUALLY YOU CAN FEEL THEM IN THAT REGION.
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting

I got bite on my ring finger last week. I pulled the little tird out and a couple days later my finger swelled. Back down to normal now.

When I was a little kid my dad took my little brother and I crappie fishing at a pond in the lower Yak valley.  After about an hour of fishing my brother says "Dad, why are the rocks moving?"  We look down and it looked like actually looked like they were moving......turns out they were ticks.  We were completely covered from waste down.  We spent the afternoon in the bathroom naked getting ticks pulled out of us.  At least that's how I remember it happening! (I was about 8 though) Been spooked of the little *censored*s ever since.   :)

My wife is still rubbing it in that she found the one and only shed for the day.

I hate tick more than any thing, I would rather deal with a pissed off  grizz, I can at least shoot him. The spring for some reason is always the worst time of year for them. If I ever became covered from the waist down with them I would die from a heart attach and if I didn't that would probable be the one thing that would keep me out of the woods for a long time. I sound like a little girl but I just hate them  :'( .

Cool shed, is it a small elk shed?
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

That's funny.  MY wife bit ME on the same finger... 'bout 15 years ago...

...Still not back to "normal" yet though....
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
