310 hp and 400 lbs torque in a 10 speed.   It'll be fine.   Just could be spendy down the road if you have engine issues.

Ford dropped  the ball on this. Putting such a small power plant in a American classic redo is ridiculous. This thing is screaming for a 5.0! Not a Jeep killer and never will be.

Have you ever rode in their competitor (Wrangler)? Trust me, the 2.7 is far more potent. I own a ‘15 with the 3.6 and that thing is a gutless wonder.

Way underpowered, have you driven a 2.7? I am guessing no.
Wouldn't it be pretty high strung for crawling around?

I don't know anything about the 2.7 but I was surprised at how the newer Wranglers seemed under powered. I think they should have kept the straight six and perhaps made it bigger. From a 4.0 to 4.4 with some extras would have plenty of power IMO

I’m happy there’s more competition in the Barbie Jeep category?  Why didnt they just put two seats in the back of a shortbed f150 with a lift?  Then we could tow a boat and go wheelin’ in the same day.

Can't say that I'm a real big fan of the new Bronco, at least not so far, but I'll reserve final judgement till I can see a few in person.  I think I read those awful looking things on the tops of the front fenders were removable so that'll help.

I'm sure they'll be plenty capable off road but who's going to get very serious about off roading one of these things when the cost of some of the loaded up ones will probably be over $70K

This video lays out a lot of the features. Its got some serious off-road credentials. Like a actual 7 speed stick with dedicated rock crawling gear  8)

I'm really impressed with how comprehensive this rollout is. It would have been really easy to release a couple of trim lines and then a Raptor version in a year and call it a day. But this new Bronco has 3 different configurations, 8 different trims and 4 packages that can applied to any of them. Including one that's totally stripped down for total customization.

I don't think they have a high-lux version or a high-performance version yet but other than those, its pretty impressive that they are able to compete with Jeeps whole line on day 1.

Would have been the perfect time to bring back the 300 straight six. Now that was an engine!!

Your not allowed to complain, my 2008 has the 3.8.  :chuckle:
I've heard the 8 speed tranny on the JL 3.6 makes a huge difference.

The 2.7 is twin turboed, there ain't lag. 380+ ft lbs under 3000 rpm...its a better curve than the 5.0 yote. Those that think it is not a powerful plant have the 10 speed...you put that tranny in Sport mode and mash it and it pulls from a dig all the way to 5000.

Did Ford make this one with the heated tailgate?

:chuckle: I have rode in a 2019, but haven’t drove one. They are a lot nicer overall though that’s for sure. I’m excited for the bronco to finally hit the streets.

Looks like the package I'd be interested in starts around 50k. I think I will just lift my taco, do alignment, and put some 33s on and call it good.

Probably end up with better resale and more capable rig.  It's hard to beat a Taco.   I still miss my 1990 SR5.  With the stock IFS and 33s, it was like a Cadillac in the hills.
