Looks like the package I'd be interested in starts around 50k. I think I will just lift my taco, do alignment, and put some 33s on and call it good.

Probably end up with better resale and more capable rig.  It's hard to beat a Taco.   I still miss my 1990 SR5.  With the stock IFS and 33s, it was like a Cadillac in the hills.

Ha ha nice my buddy has that same 1990 SR5 to this day with a lift and 33s. It's a blast in the hills and very capable for sure. It got us to some new ground for morel hunting this year that I would not have made with my taco in present condition.

When I think of how many 1960-70s Broncos we put in the graveyard when I was in high school I cringe.  :'(
 I like the option for the 7 speed manual transmission with the granny gear, but if I ever buy a "truck" in 4 cyl, you can go ahead and shoot me... :P

The 2.7 is twin turboed, there ain't lag. 380+ ft lbs under 3000 rpm...its a better curve than the 5.0 yote. Those that think it is not a powerful plant have the 10 speed...you put that tranny in Sport mode and mash it and it pulls from a dig all the way to 5000.

If you want to get technical, it's not a twin turbo. It's a bi-turbo or dual turbo or whatever you want to call it. There's a little turbo that spools at low RPM and a normal turbo that spools up normally. The little turbo eliminates 99% of turbo lag. You can buy an F150 with that engine that would be rated to tow 7500 pounds and will handle it in it's sleep. It's a much more powerful engine than some of you guys think.

I wouldn't disagree with that sentiment at all. I wouldn't buy a 2.7 F150 simply on the premise that it doesn't sound like a truck engine should.

Well, if we'd get rid of this stupid metric system, it'd be 5.7 pints, and by golly a 5.7 sounds like a truck engine!

exactly my thoughts .way under powered for the size of the rig but that’s getting to be the norm manufacturers think all’s we want in a “truck” is gas mileage. If I wanted gas mileage I’d by a Hyundai speed bump

Same here probably a gutless V6 like the Toyota motor with the eco crap on it. I had a Toyota 4 runner with eco boost V6 and it was a dog. And a 2.7L with 35 inch tires, BS

Depending on weight ratio, the 2.7L (165 cu in)  V6 regardless of what you do with 35" tires will be a dog on trails once loaded. I love V6, had many in Jeeps, still have one in a flatty fuel injection. But a Bronco is Bronco, needs a V8.

It's got more power than all of the original Broncos.

The base model Bronco has better Horsepower and Torque than the high performance version of the original 289 motor they put in the Mustangs.
