No replacement for displacement.  Maybe they should put a manbun on it.

I think its a cool rig for sure. I'm not a Ford fan by any means but the features it can come with are quite impressive. Probably a smart move to start with a platform aimed at the masses then add the v8 later.

Well, what do you know.  Leaked pictures unveil the production version targeted at a certain segment of the population.

Only available in 2.3l and 2.7l and manual only in the 2.3.  Ill pass.
exactly my thoughts .way under powered for the size of the rig but that’s getting to be the norm manufacturers think all’s we want in a “truck” is gas mileage. If I wanted gas mileage I’d by a Hyundai speed bump

Same here probably a gutless V6 like the Toyota motor with the eco crap on it. I had a Toyota 4 runner with eco boost V6 and it was a dog. And a 2.7L with 35 inch tires, BS

It's got more power than all of the original Broncos.

The base model Bronco has better Horsepower and Torque than the high performance version of the original 289 motor they put in the Mustangs.

What's on paper and what hits the trail are completely different. Gutless wonder. Just a stock bronco weighs 4500 pounds, to 310 horsepower 2.7L, not good once loaded, with fuel, people winch etc.

And another shame to the New Bronco is IFS, what a joke. I guess it will be the best pavement pounder.

I'm sure there will be plenty of hands on reviews on youtube soon enough.

Given how long the Bronco was in production, how comprehensive their rollout is and the fact that Ford has plenty of bigger motors already that they could have put in it, my guess is that the engineers thought this through.

Same could be said (lots of effort) of the modular motors (V-8/V10) that kept blowing spark plugs or the 6.0 Powerstroke.  The new motors produce lots of power and torque, but there is a mountain of complexity where it doesn't need to be to do it, and where you want it least, off pavement.

Torque, hp, it’s all a sham.  We all know it’s the amount of spark plugs that turn the wheels!

Except for jets, diesels and outboards, those are anomalies.

I remember hearing the same arguments about carburetors vs injection not so long ago.

The 2.7 is twin turboed, there ain't lag. 380+ ft lbs under 3000 rpm...its a better curve than the 5.0 yote. Those that think it is not a powerful plant have the 10 speed...you put that tranny in Sport mode and mash it and it pulls from a dig all the way to 5000.
Guys will LOVE that boost when they head for the mountain peaks

My daughters MKC has the 2.0 Ecoboost, I think it's 240hp/270 lb-ft torque and 6 speed auto.  I haven't driven it but maybe a handful of times but I was actually pretty impressed with the power of it.

The new Bronco with something like the V8 5.0 Coyote engine would have had a higher cool factor but I don't think that 2.7 will be all that bad.

I had this conversation today with a buddy of mine.  The top model loaded up new Bronco will probably be somewhere around $70K.  You can probably get a pretty nice restored Gen 1 Bronco for 70K.  For me, I'd rather spend 70 grand on a nicely restored Gen1 and I'd bet it'll hold its value better too.

The 3.5 L ecoboost would be perfect for the lil bronco.  Never mind the twin turbo.    Drove the single turbo 3.5L in new f-150 and it hit 90 mph in 4th quite rapidly.  It had 6 gears left !!!!

Ford dropped  the ball on this. Putting such a small power plant in a American classic redo is ridiculous. This thing is screaming for a 5.0! Not a Jeep killer and never will be.

Have you ever rode in their competitor (Wrangler)? Trust me, the 2.7 is far more potent. I own a ‘15 with the 3.6 and that thing is a gutless wonder.

I never mentioned a thing about the Jeep being a hot rod. I simply think they could of offered another power plant for it. The early bronco offered a 289 (V8) so if they are going to bring it back why not do it some justice and offer it with a V8 ?!

The 3.5 ecoboost are all dual turbos.
