River fishing, anyone out?
« on: July 22, 2020, 09:37:27 AM »
I'm getting the itch early..  Anyone hitting the rivers?  I'm going to be down on the Cowlitz at Riffe again, thinking about throwing some cast at the Cowlitz but not sure its worth it..  PM if you don't want to announce broadly and are comfortable sharing.

It's been slow for me on the Cowlitz running diver and coon shrimp. I was hooking 1 or 2 a trip with 3 rods out in a 5 or 6 hour day. 0 bites the last 3 trips since last Saturday.  The weekend before my granddaughter was 2 for 3 with her first steelhead ever.

Not sure how the hankies have been doing.

I'll probably be out again Friday. Maybe a couple times over the weekend.

I'm heading over next weekend.  I was hoping to make a Toutle run while I was over there but it's been dead.  I'll probably just fish from shore at our Cowlitz cabin.  We are the second cabin above the massey bar boat launch.

Nice, right on..  I kind of figured it might be.  I'll get a good evening fish in at Riffe and probably still throw a few in at Cowlitz Sat morning..

Yes sir.  I'd rather be sidedrifting but ya got to play along.

Got a few recycles in there but they all looked pretty good.

I've gone a few times this year and it's been hit and miss. They're constantly changing the water flow too.

I don't think he would have taken just two of us but when we got 4 to go, he couldn't turn it down  :chuckle:

Went bear hunting and didn’t see anything so I hit the river and found a couple fish.
