Kuiu Clothing sizing
« on: July 24, 2020, 05:27:14 AM »
I am about to pick up some pants via Kuiu.

I seem to recall some folks saying that their stuff runs small.  Is that right?

I normally wear a 36 waist, 34 inseam in pants and I was planning on getting that size when I order.

Thanks!

Yes it does run small so purchase one size larger. I.E if you have a 34 waist buy a 36.

I’ve always worn true to my normal pant size in mine so🤷‍♂️? They are athletic cut tho so if you have tree trunks for legs it can be a problem with fit. I have both attack & pro pants & really like them. :twocents:

Perfect.  For those who have the guide pants.  how heavy weight are they?

Anyone have the Axis pants?  those seem like a good compromise between rain pants and normal hunting pants.

I have a couple different pairs of pants, they are not that heavy, not sure exactly the style I have.  I bought the axis coat this winter and I agree, it's a good in-between rain resistant fabric.

I only wear my guide pants when it's really cold or when I plan to sit.  They aren't heavy but they get warm when hiking.  The hip vents help.

FWIW, I also wear "true to size" in guide pants. I am a 32 waist,  I wear 32 in Guide's and 34 in Attacks.  They fit the exact same. I'm told it's for layering  :dunno:

Cool.  I ordered a pair of Axis, Guide and attack pants.  Sounds like I may be returning a pair which is fine.  Plenty of time to do that!

Now to break the news to my wife regarding the upcoming Amex bill....  Wish me well.

The Axis pants run the same size as the Attacks. They're a pretty tough pant for certain conditions, usually later in the year. The Attacks are their beat overall pant in my opinion. You can easily turn them into the guide pant by adding a thin merino layer underneath. The Attacks combined with the zip off merinos makes for the best set up I've ever used.

On a side note, their Tiburon pants are great for summer and early fall, but run a complete size smaller than the Attacks I've found with every pair I've bought. Pretty crazy to be a 34-34.5 guy and have to buy 38's.

Great info.  I bought all 3 in 38.  I am a 36 right now but drop to 34 when i get serious about my diet!

I expect i may have to return and swap sizes which is why i bought now.

I am excites about the Axis pants as the seem like a great compromise!

I have both the attack and pro pants.  I love the little bit of stretch in the attack pants.  I love the knee pads in the pros.  The stretch in the attack pants make them fit a little bit better.  Why did you pick the axis over attacks?

Also, since Crunchy brings up the Pro pants, they seem to run a single size to half size smaller than the attacks. Definately tighter in the thighs and lack stretch.  If they had a waterproof seat I'd size up and use them more, but as of now, they're my least used Kuiu pant.

I tried a pair of attacks this year.  I dropped down to 36 in Alpines from 38 and I thought that 36 Attacks would work.  Not a chance with my quads.  I would have had to stay with 38s for that reason alone.  I did find a second pair of Alpines so I should be good for a while.  I do wear 36 jeans but I usually get relaxed fit so its really just about the cut for me.

I had guide pants and alpine both were true to size 36 waist for jeans and that's what I ordered in kuiu.
The stretch in the fabric make them very comfortable

I actually got one of each.  I like the idea of the axis with the waterproof panels, but still having beeathable panels as well.

But the attack pants are proba ly the most versatile
