We'll be in 418 and or 407 over the weekend.  If any of you are up there and see a silver '06 Silverado with a black tailgate... Stop and say hi. lol :)

Going up scouting w my dad tomorrow.  Tantalizingly close to the 1st but won't actually be able to get out for real until the second weekend.  Hoping successes this year put last year's missed opportunities in the rear view mirror.  It's been too long since I've had bear sausage in the freezer!
I didn't get a bear last year and it hurt.

I've been working in Eburg for the last week and scouted up in 335.  I saw 3 bears on the first evening and 1 the next, two of them were cinnamon color.  Might have to get the extra tag this season.  Never scouted for bears until this year.

Does Sportsmans Wharehouse or Bi Mart have any good bear calls?  Thanks and good luck out there!

Well it hurt the freezer and the reason I didn't get one is because I lost one.  First one I have ever not had drop in their tracks.  Not my best moment and three of us searched for him until 2 AM and then hunted the same area for the next week trying to find him.

I know that feeling well and it's not a feeling I'd like to repeat.  Got a different rifle setup I feel a lot more comfortable with and have been doing a lot more shooting than normal for that very reason.  Let's turn it around this season!  Good luck all.

Well saw 1 at 9am on the opener. Ran into the timber after 10 mins, just enough time for me to realize that my path down to the bottom was way too steep.

First color phase , Westside bear.  Tracked it to within 40 yards  from a service road.

Well yesterday morning my buddy shot one and we spent the rest of the day finding it and getting it out.  Saw two this morning, couldn't get a shot on the one in range.  Hopefully I find one this evening.
