Upland Hatch 2020
« on: July 28, 2020, 08:08:08 PM »
I've been seeing lots of quail this year from the Columbia to Ephrata. Plenty of chicks. I haven't seen any pheasants tho. Anybody else seeing birds?

Hatch doesn't look to good around my place. Only 2 chicks in one family and 4 in the other.  It was pretty cool and wet here in western Klickitat County during the nesting period.

Tough time of year to see pheasants, give it a month or two.  Here is a California ready for take off, fair hatch south of Spokane

Quail are looking good at my place. Pheasants always start appearing later so hard to say how it looks.

Turkeys seemed to have a lot of failures but some have just hatched out what I assume is a second attempt.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I will know soon how good the pheasant hatch is when I make it over to fill feeders in Garfield county.  Hopefully it's a good hatch cause the birds we were hunting late last year were smart.  Plentiful but smart.
A bad day out hunting is better than a good day at work!
