Looking to build an AR, anyone use Palmetto state armory?
Looking at one of the kits and a lower.

Have built several using their kits. Need to get a better trigger, but that is about the same for all AR kits. There are different things you can do to make them better, recoil spring, MOE furniture, etc. But so far, have had no issues. They seem to run out of stock alot though.

I did a couple a while back, a 16” carbine length an 18” mid length in 223 wylde. Fit and finish is ok not great, the 18” upper is considerably sloppier than the 16” on the same lower. It looks like the holes are slightly out of round for the receiver and take down pins. That being said it still shoots 3/4” with mid grade ammo so all and all pretty decent for the price. The trigger on mine was better than I was expecting from everything I read. Still haven’t put together the other lower parts kit

I've built a couple with their complete uppers, lower kits and Aero lowers (purchased locally). So far it's been great. No malfunctions. Watch their daily deals and specials and you could build pretty cheap.  Trigger is pretty good. I've tried Rock River triggers and didn't like them. I have a Geissele 2 stage in my varmint and it is pretty good.

I have 2 uppers from PSA one pistol in .223/5.56 and a 300BLK.  All Anderson lowers.   I have an off the rack Anderson in .223 16" carbine.  I just finished a AR10 Aero lowers and Bear Creek upper.

I would say the only downside is resale. There are guys out there that will only buy guns with Aero, Spikes or similar lowers.

Doesn't matter how well the gun shoots.

I've posted this before, but check out the What Would Stoner Do series for AR ideas.

I especially like the pencil barrel concept.  I have a Faxon barrel waiting to go into a build, if MidwayUSA ever restocks their upper receivers.  It would make for a great lightweight shooter.

I'd avoid the urge to go top shelf, first build, and/or hang the kitchen sink on it, to keep it light and handy. 

Milspec buffer tube and collapsible stock are lightweight, compared to other offerings, and I like the Seekins NOXS handguards for their light weight, too.

I might be selling my 308 AR 80,% lower and match grade barrel everything to assemble the rifle you just need to router out the receiver. I can send you pics .

Right now I am really busy reloading ammunition and I have two kits and I have the easy jig 2but no time to do any other projects. This away I can get more primers and powder with the money.
