Quilt Manufacturers
« on: August 08, 2020, 03:51:28 PM »
Hey guys, any quilt recommendations?  I am in the market for one but it looks like I waited too long. EE and Katabatic couldn’t guarantee they will have one ready to ship before high buck.

Any others you guys have experience with and like?

TIA!

VIAM Outdoors. I have several pieces of gear from VIAM (6AM) Outdoors including a quilt. Top barrel quality, rock solid customer service, very competitive pricing. Send me a PM and I’ll give you Tristans (head cook and bottle washer) email if you wish. Happy shopping  ;)

Edit:  Just emailed back and forth with Tristan, they do have some “ready to ship” now.

The only reason I haven’t bought a VIAM is because I believe they’re all synthetic. No down. I might be wrong.

I think I’m running out of options at this point so I may have to take the weight penalty.  It still beats what I have now.

I have an EE and it's ok.  I wouldn't say its fantastic, but the quality and construction are fine.  I ordered the extra fill and not sure I got it, I can hold it up to a light and see areas where there is little to no down in a 3 season quilt.  I wonder if the hiker ultralight crowd is used to sleeping in their clothes during good weather.

I love my EE and would highly recommend it.
If I was in your time pinch I'd buy this

Check out hammockgear.com that’s where I got mine, the quilt itself is really high quality but I would upgrade the straps for the pad

I've been very happy with my EE. Only complaint is the regular could be like an inch longer. I'm 5'9" and if I really snuggle in my feet compress the foot box a bit

6'2", but EE can't ship on time (see original post).

My very last piece of Army issued gear to leave my pack - my 18.4lb sleeping bag :chuckle:.  It's time!

How weird are people about using used sleeping bags?
You know my situation I'm about to enter on Monday,
I can ship you my EE long/wide to borrow this season since I will not be using it.
I can also send my cuben bivy (7oz) that keeps pad, quilt and you all in one little burrito.

I know I am not internet famous like Karl and haven't been on podcast about how awesome of a hunter I am but my offer below stands.
Just quoting it in case you missed it earlier.

How weird are people about using used sleeping bags?

I can ship you my EE long/wide to borrow this season since I will not be using it.
I can also send my cuben bivy (7oz) that keeps pad, quilt and you all in one little burrito.

And Karl, I am kidding...kinda  :)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 no Instagram, no Facebook, no Twitter tweeter, and a patreon only podcast  that 11 people listen to, where I talk about missing deer. "Famous" would be a strong word
