Trad archery coaches in WA?
« on: August 12, 2020, 01:23:13 PM »
Are there any good trad archery coaches in WA?  Asking for a friend 😂

Actually, I’ve been shooting compound for a while and still have plenty to learn.  I’ve never become really attached to shooting itself as a hobby, although this time of year I shoot and tune non stop.  Living so rural, I’d like to be able to fully manage my bow on  my own and I love shooting my kids’ recurves.

I’m thinking about making trad archery my early 2021 project.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Welcome to true stick and string! Smart finding a coach or just shooting with good shooters. Really helps having someone who can call out when you pluck or short draw or whatever it is. I shot with a great group in Texas and went from missing targets in a 30 round 3D competition to buckling in 2 and winning one. Also shot with some guys training for the warrior games and while target archery at 70 yards is a whole other ball game those guys can really nitpick your shots. So maybe find an indoor league or something too. I’m in Ferry county and would shoot with ya if you were closer haha.
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Amen

Live on the coast, but expecting to possibly have to do this in the Olympia area at the closest.

I would get ahold of these guys. That is about as helpful as i can get since the coast is such a large undefined area. I know several of thier members and they are a great group of guys.
