Familiar with Quadrajets?

I am rebuilding the Quadrajet on my sons 84 GMC. I did the one I had on my '72 in the late 90s so it's been a few days since I've delved too deep into one. My concern is there is no plug covering the Adjustable Part Throttle screw. My other one had an aluminum plug covering it. I was googling images and I've seen pictures of carbs WITH the plug and WITHOUT! Is the plug necessary?

Doug says the cap is just to keep dirt out, you are good.

I think i saw a movie about those, it was called Jurrasic Carb

I typically set the metering rod stop screw flush with the carb body and plug the lean bleed holes . you shouldn't have to mess with the plug and the hole should be capped to keep debris out. if you can get ahold of a long .042 drill bit and drill the idle tubes they like that as well as giving the secondary syphon tubes a tap to make sure they are seated into the lid .
