im anxious to see who knocks the first bear of the season down! we are a few hours in already and im completely jealous of anyone in the woods right now! cant wait to start reading some stories and seeing some pictures! good luck everyone!

Me too. Sad that I am so pathetic I am just as excited about someone else out hunting. I am having hunting withdrawals and its only been a month since I stop hunting coyotes. I might have to go shoot some puppies if I dont get some help.

no tracks, no chipmonks,still to much snow for my location.tried hiking in to deep for my leg right now,it wont be long...still having a good time down lower looking for sheds...seen alot of guys on the roads,for a wednesday.seen 8 elk two had horns 3x3 and a spike.mass deer out..but theres no deer in hancock

If I would have had a bear tag in my pocket yesterday I could have taken the first one of the season. A really nice Cinnamon boar that I would say was pushing 300 and not a single rub anywhere on him. He walked out fro behind some rocks and side-hilled while we watched him he started about 400 yards away and got to within 250 before he smelled something he wanted to go look at. The best part of it all is I had a rookie hunter with me and between the tom he almost shot, and the bear he was ecstatic.

I was in the Copalis unit Wednesday dawn til dark and saw no new sign or bears. I looked down into the field below my house this morning and what do you think i saw? Yeah, a bear! too bad I didn't live in the unit that my tag is for. It was too small, I wouldn't have shot him anyway. But my Buddie and I will be heading back to copalis again tomorrow morning. Maybe we will get lucky and have some pics to show.

Ugh. the waiting is horrible. I had to be in CA for a weddign last weekend. but I head to the blues for this coming weekend! hopefully I bump into a nice big boar..
