Sell me on muck boots

So I'm in the market for new pair of boots. I don't want to spend a fortune but I want something in about the $200 range. I blacktail hunt on the west side and was looking at Muck Boots. Anyone have any experience with them? Are they decent even when its not raining? Do you recommend another type of boot over the Muck? I know this question has been asked a bunch.  Just looking for some info. Any and all are appreciated.

I have a pair of the muckmaster tall boots i wear around the property that are comfortable and of course waterproof, not sure i would want to wear them hunting though. I prefer a lace up waterproof boot and good pair of gators

At my house we have 6/7 pairs of them. Have owned 30+ only had a couple that gave us issues all the others have been great. They make cold weather models but they don’t do well but for keeping water out and comfort they are great. If your walking tons of miles or climbing probably a better choice out there as they can pinch some of steep side hills etc.

I prefer deck boots (xtra tuff, Tingly Pylon, etc.) for most wet Washington hunting unless it's really deep slimy stuff.

I have Muck "artic chore"  to warm for actually walking imo.  Great for standing or sitting.  Very comfortable but hot as hell

I have muck boots that I use around the house in the winter. They are fine if you are walking short distances but not great for "hiking" as your feet will sweat and they also don't provide great support.

I wear rubber boots a lot in the winter trapping. I bought a pair of mucks. Worst boots I ever wore. No support, sweaty and easily snagged. hard to patch too.

I have a pair of muck boots I will take out jump shooting ducks or wear around the yard in the winter. Not much support for deer hunting.

For blacktail hunting I wear LL Bean hunting boots. Waterproof, give more support since they lace up and the soles on them have a lot of feeling to them so if you are still hunting you can pick your way around quietly. Bean boots have become a hipsters wet dream but they were originally intended for still hunting the hardwood forests back east.

Got to be careful buying them, they are sized with wearing heavy wool socks in mind and run way large.

I think they fall apart too soon and then leak.  Not for heavy duty use imho

i hunt western blacktail in the late season in muck boots all the time, comfortable, dry, hike all day and they feel great.  They can get warm on warm days but late season they are great.

I bought a pair of Lacrosse that I bought to hunt in western wa.camo 18in high,i use them on steep off trail hikes,i would give up my leather boots before I would give up my rubber boots,most of my hunting eastern wa with steep terrain,any hill I would hike with leather ,I would  hike with my rubber hunting boots,paid about $120 if I remember right,had them 7or 8 yrs.

Seconding the LaCrosse over the Muck boots.  They kind of fit like a tennis shoe, but they don't have the ankle support of leather, which makes side-hilling somewhat difficult.

I forgot my regular hunting boots last year and had only my Muck boots. Kept my feet dry and warm, but had no skin left on the Achilles tendons after hiking around a few days

I have a pair of muck masters
I wouldn’t buy another pair
They were expensive and I’ve had them leak on me due to the soles
After the 1 year warranty of course
Took them to the cobbler and had them fixed
Nope won’t recommend

I used my LaCrosse in the muskeg just fine.  Ain't no boot, except maybe hip waders, going to keep the water from going over the top when you sink in up to your knee though.

I have used the lacrosse for years, since a kid.  Mucks IMO were junk, along with some UA muck style. When I started working in the woods on the westside I started wearing rubber corks from hoffman's. Never looked back, best rubber boots I have ever worn. Would wear them anywhere. Bought some uncorked for westside BT and general use.

My muck boots failed, tore at the rubber neoprene interface above the heel.

Got a cheaper pair of knock off brand, painful on my feet, never had a boot hurt so much, they press down on the top of my foot and do something to my arch that hurts, so I can't wear them

I've had good luck over the years with two or three pairs of Lacrosse rubber boots, and currently I have a pair of Cabelas and they've been great as well. I walk miles and miles in them. But certainly not on real steep ground. And if it's warm I don't wear them. But I sure do like my feet always being dry, and never having to worry about wading across creeks and through mud like I would with leather boots. Never have tried Muck boots.

Mucks and Lacrosse are great when needed - wet muck swamp areas that will wet any leather boot in couple hours.

I had a pair of the woody max mucks and if it was above freezing, they were too warm for me. Also don’t like how they’re constructed, seams around the bottom of the boots that separate and leak with use.

Unless you’re walking on flat ground I wouldn’t recommend any rubber boots for hunting, no ankle support.
