2018 bear

Got my 2018 bear back from Rick at Cedar River yesterday. Just a little guy, but a beautiful coat, and Rick did a great job. Wife wants it on the bedroom wall, so no complaints from me. Always a pleasure to check out Rick's shop and see what he has going on.

OK, today's project is to finally get this guy on the wall. Sounds like lots of different options for mounting. Any tips from you guys?

My last rug (bobcat) came with little hanging rings stitched into the back side of the felt - I just bought some picture hanging hooks and lined them up with the rings so it was easy. The bears I have put on the wall I just got the long thumb tacks and pushed them through the felt about every 6" .
It's a two person job.

Well, I sewed on some D-rings, and hung him up. I don't love the vertical presentation, but when your wife says she wants the bear in the bedroom, you do what you're told!

This is how I did one of mine..  Put a couple sheets of plywood together, roughly traced the outline of the rug, cut it out and stapled the rug to the plywood.  Then, located a couple studs in the wall, determined the angle I wanted, notched the backside of the plywood and hung it.

That looks really good. I thought about doing something similar but without the exposed wood edge. But I think I really like it.
