:yeah:  Very mature / old buck.  Looks like he might have been regressing too.  Very cool!  Congrats!

JakeLand gets bonus points for the best pack-out procedure in addition to a great buck.

I left my trailer at home because I was tired of hauling it back and forth empty.  Btw, @jakeland gave me info on the trailer he used, as well as some optics defogging tricks, that have helped me immensely, but here was my creative way to do the 4 miles without the trailer  :chuckle:

Isn’t that how it happens? Leave the trailer or deer cart or whatever, and you get a buck!  Good job!

Got this blacktail with a quality late season tag for modern.  My biggest deer to date.
awesome Blacktail no need for any color as in gloss of anyother kind of stain or anything he's already got all the color he needs grats.

My son got it done on his Benge Youth Doe tag.  He tagged out earlier on a second deer tag in the same area.  Got her walking back to the truck after a couple miles of climbing hills.  I had just joked with him that if he was going to shoot one, now would be the time to do it.  I have to admit, I have way more fun watching the boy hunt and be successful than I do hunting and having success on my own...and that's saying something.

Congrats to your son Treeclimber. Let's hope this is the start of a fruitful hunting career.

Opening day near Twisp, friends deer. 4x4 Muley
After 5 days hunting over there and seeing some bull moose we came home and I got the 2x3 blacktail on the 25th.
Then my friend went to Montana with his BIL and they got the next 2 on the second and third days they were there.
