Youth antlerless wind river
« on: September 05, 2020, 01:35:19 PM »
Good afternoon all,
My 14 year old daughter drew wind river Youth tag rifle.   She has written the game office as well as the region bio (she’s on leave) and haven’t received any response.  We have scouted mostly the buck creek drainage and have seen almost no dear sign.  Years ago I hunted this area with good success and large numbers of deer.  Would anyone be willing to point us into a better general starting point?  nw sw Ne would be super helpful.  We would only be hunting for her as I hunt west klick with another group.  We will be scouting whenever we can till the season starts.  We are headed up again tomorrow to have a look around.   Just trying to make this hunt as successful as I can for her.  Thanks for any help
Andrew and Adrienne

Thanks Dan,
We are going up tomorrow to see what we can find.  Just going to try to find some tracks to get a decent starting point.  I was really surprised to head my old hunting spot up buck creek by the lack of any tracks.  I really should have known better....No matter what we will have a good time this season.  She’s a great kid!

Try the area near what used to be Northwestern reservoir. My son had that tag years ago and we spent most of our time in the Bear Creek area and only saw a few deer. We went to the other side and immediately got into deer.

Awesome thanks so much for all the help!  We will hopefully be posting some pictures of my daughters successful hunt later in October.

Do you mean the little white salmon? There’s not a fish hatchery on the big white to my knowledge?

The Hatchery on the little white in willard my bad.  Head East from the Hatchery you'll see the Williams gas line Station on your left take that road up the hill and it won't take long check out the map you could take that all the way through and come out over Nestor Peak at the old Northwestern Lake Road.
