Coyote hunting opportunity

In the last six years the population around my place has boomed, North Central Whidbey. There’s been a few issues recently and the wife said it’s time to thin the herd. I have no desire or time to hunt them. Anyone interested in hunting them contact me. There will be a vetting process for those interested and if you don’t have a CPL it’s probably not going to happen unless you are active NASW.

More info about location. - 20 acres, 10 of it 25-30 yr old second growth. Backs up to large undeveloped private property.
Like nearest houses. - yes, will definitely be discussed and noted.
Longest open shots. - maybe 50 yds, but willing to clear old logging roads.
223 ok or shotgun required? Needs to be legal method of hunting, no rifles
Days of week you allow hunting? Any and no time constraints
Electronic calling ok with neighborhood? Calling absolutely

Sounds more like a job for a trapper than a hunting opportunity?  Maybe a local and skilled bow hunter will help ya out?  What problems have you had with the coyotes?

They’ve gone from a couple to a pack. I’ll get up to five at a time on the game cams. I’m fine with a couple, they keep the rabbit, vole, rat and mouse population down. But when it becomes a pack they get more brazen.

The neighbors cats have gone MIA, which is not my problem. Another neighbor’s chicken, geese and turkeys are getting hit. Again not my problem. But recently they’ve acquired an interested in our dogs. We’ll hear them yipping and making any and all of the sounds they make all night.  Well, a few weeks ago, in the morning before work, I hear the pack going nuts (they woke me up, wife was already up), the first thing the wife does is let the dogs out when she gets up. I fly out of bed and grab my 40 I new the dogs were outside. I figured I had no chance of hitting one with that so head for the safe to grab a shotgun. Finally I barrel out of the house to see the wife is already outside. She explains to me that as soon as she heard the yippin she ran outside to see our dog chasing a coyote into the woods and could hear the others Making their noise. She yelled at our dog and he stopped and came back. Then the coyote came back out of the woods and started following our dog up the driveway. The wife sad the yote was making all kinds of whines, barks etc. and it’s behavior was as though it was enticing a chase. She said it got to within 40 feet of her doing this behavior. Then she said it ran off when it heard the door open that I came out of. A month or so before that we were walking the dogs before work, it’s dark at that time. We will do a three mile loop from our place through a preserve and back. As we are getting closer the pack starts doing their noise gig. From my best estimate by sound they were 20 yards from the road. They were paralleling us on the road. We’d get perpendicular to them and they’d go silent. They would run up through the woods a 100 ft and do it again. They did that three times. When we turned up towards the house it opens and is about 200 feet. The whole time we were walking up there they were singing their song.

Now it’s time to address it. Sure I can go out with the Foxpro or a distress call and possibly shoot one but that is just work to me. If I do shoot one it’ll just end up in the bushes. I know some people like the sport of calling them in, some people like to keep the hides, Some shoot them just for the hell of it. I figured I would give someone that may get some enjoyment out of it an opportunity. That person could be a trapper too.

You'd probably have to offer a chance at a deer as well.

Most here aren't going to want to pay for gas and a ferry ticket to hunt coyote.

OP, if it's work for you to fix your problem, it's work for someone else.

You'd likely get a better response if you explain what's in it for the hunter other than, "lolyotes."

If you dont get any bites here... Try the 2 sportsmen clubs you may have some luck due to your location.

May be the same pack that is working behind our place. I was waiting for a cold spell for the fur to set better... however..
Last weekend we had 2 coons come in and jump in the pond after the ducks. (the ducks were not pleased) One at 3 AM & another at 4AM.
Scouted around for more once we bagged the first..he must have been over the fence hiding..
I don't mind the trouble to put the kibosh on them but to be woken up the 2nd time was an aggravation. 

Their furs aren't much to look at but the hair isn't slipping.
May be early but the pack of 'yotes we have is pretty big (not sure if its the same one) and we will bump up the schedule & thin it out shortly.

I live in Oak harbor, and hunt Coyotes on the North end of the island.

Have a CPL and can possibly help the OP out as well.  My wife and grandson and I love to hunt coyotes.
