Hello everyone. I am looking for someone who can give me some really good info on where to kill a few does over that way during the rifle season. I archery hunt but am bringing my grandpa and nephew for their rifle tag. The kid can hike and I wouldn't be asking if it was for him. The real point is to get grandpa his final deer. And he doesnt walk the best. So I am looking for an easy access place for him. He's a Korean War vet that grew up hunting, hiking, and fishing. He was wanting to do archery again but I just dont see it happening with the ole crossbow. Now this isnt just me asking for a FREE HANDOUT. We are from Central Wa. I shed hunt and watch the animals all year. So if you ever draw a tag around here you would have my full help. Also, I shed hunt, a lot! So if you have never found an elk shed or big mulie shed maybe we can work out an exchange! I hope to hear from y'all!

Bump. Someone has to have input on somewhere.. Just like I always do when people ask for help with special draws in Central Wa. May have to stop since it doesn't seem to be a helpful cycle on here anymore. Way to make the sport grow guys.. Smh.

I think there is an incredibly helpful cycle here. My guess, only an assumption,  is that help hasn't come up as many folks are already hunting or this years arrangements are all made. Your first post, imo, is kind of null and void by your 2nd post. I applaud your efforts for both the 87 yo vet and nephew but you 2nd post doesn't help your cause. I think your tone, due to what I assume is a drive to get them on some critters which is a good thing, is off putting and not in your favor. Not bashing on you as again I think you are trying to do a very good thing...just offering an outside opinion about how imo your message is being received.  Hope you are indeed successful and they get a chance yo send it.

Sorry you assume that. Its no problem to drive. I have some spots I know we will see deer. But at 87 what we can do is not the same for him.  I am a straight to the point person. I said what I feel. It's a cycle just like you said. My cycle to help people has now stopped in order to concentrate on his hunt. You hear that? I asked for help because I have a 65+ older cow tag to help fill and 3 different bull tags. All which have came from HUNTWA members asking for help. But I have past posts asking for help too. So how come the cycle hasnt came yet to help me? Because there's not one these days. Everyone is afraid to show the next guy. Slowly killing our sport.

Unit 124 has more public land than 127. I have not hunted either area so have no info for you. I have hunted some in 117 . But hunt idaho now.

Good on you for your help to others but straight to the point as you called it your last 2 posts negate your first post.
Nice of you to help others but do it because you want to not because you expect something in return.
Your attitude will backfire on what I think is good what you are doing for you family.
Seriously good luck to you and your season

If you would have just bumped the thread it would have gained a lot more traction.

I'm on the site pretty much everyday and never saw the first post.

If you're familiar with some public ground in 124 I would hunt what you know, there are does everywhere.

I do not expect anything back. Hence why I am still doing it. Im glad I struck the cord of a few softies and now you guys gotta degrade rather than helping. So whats the benefit you two are putting back now? Absolutely nothing just like you were from your first post. Smh. Get out of here with all your negativity.

Not a single person has responded to you negatively.  You have brought in all the negative aspects of this thread.

Asking for help sometimes just doesn't get answered.  It's just the way things roll sometimes.  Yes, there are some threads where help abounds... but I think those are the exception and not the rule.

Go easy man... You're just digging a deeper hole.

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset

Honestly, you might just start over with a new thread.

I continue to give and get great help from this site.

Your approach will hinder you, whether you accept that or not.

I hope you get the old boy his deer.

THIS was the first post when I saw this thread on the recent topics.  So because I hadn't seen it yet that makes me detrimental to hunting  :dunno: after reading that I just moved on. This is an incredible site full of immensely knowledgeable, generous,, and helpful individuals. But we all don't spend every waking moment online. A simple bump without the rant probably would have caught you some traction  :twocents:
