Private Land Owner sesrch
« on: September 10, 2020, 06:37:49 AM »
In search of a private land owner on the Olympic Peninsula that has Elk on their land and wouldn't mind an active duty Soldier (still serving with over 23 years of active federal service) and first time Elk hunter archery hunt their land. I'm not trying to take a trophy, just would like to get on the board! If you wouldn't mind giving me an opportunity (or know someone that might) I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

You're about 10 months behind the ball but I wish you luck in your search and thank you for your service.

This is a great time of year to get out and see elk activity.  Find the properties that have elk on or near them.  Use OnX or the county assessors page to find out who the land owner is.  Contact them after hunting season and seek permission for next year.

As a private land owner myself the most frustrating thing for me is of course trespassers.  Number two on that list is people contacting me the day before or during a hunting season seeking permission.

Good luck in your search and of course thank you for your service.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Hi, and thanks for the replies. Yes, I realize it's late in the game. I didn't know I was going to be here for the season until a month ago and I'm only here for about 6 weeks. The Army keeps me moving! I know it's a slim chance but can't hurt to ask. Good luck this season.

JBLM has a small population of elk you can hunt.
