I'm a west coast guy, mainly Pacific County, and after 4-days, I've only had (1) hot bull come in, and it was a 4-point. I've had (2) small rags come in silent and they both surprised me.

I had one of the rag horns come in across a new clear cut at 1:30pm in the thick smoke, and he came from upwind. Other than that, the couple of big bulls that I had counted on haven't been seen.

Lots of guys driving and bugling into every canyon. Almost all of them don't even shut their rig off. And to top it off, if there's an old, grown over grass road that dead ends, these guys will drive it !! Walking appears to be a lost art.

What gets me, is most of these old, grown over roads are shredded with sign, and if you actually got out you can smell the bull. I had a bull going on a dead end road and put my truck about 1/4 mile before it ended. The road was alder grown over and the guy drove by rig, and then me, as the wind changed.

Whatever, guys will hunt like they want.

Lots of bulls bugling yesterday and this morning near Cle Elum...   heard 6-8 different bulls at the same time but they seemed to be holding tight where they were.

They will not bugle if wolves are around. They learn that very quickly. :dunno:

Revere is correct.  Buddy arrowed a bull yesterday evening.  He was with a bunch of cows and did not make a peep

I called in a 5 point in NE WA the other day and he came in making cow call mew type sounds the whole way. Got to 8 feet of me, i made myself known and he came back 3-4 more times and wouldn't leave until i stood up, walked toward him and clapped. He was definitely thinkin with his dipstick.

Just cow call. Trying to sound like a lost calf. He came across an open lake bed. Id guess he started 400+ yards away
