Most taxidermist will do it for between $75-$150. I would refer you to mine over there but he is getting out of the business so maybe someone else on here knows someone in your area. Or you could just boil it out yourself pressure wash it once or twice and then soak it in some peroxide. Then I usually put it on top of the baseboard heater or fireplace for a while to heat the bone up and cook any last little bits in there so it doesn’t start to stink.

I think skullduggery is in Toutle, wa. and he uses dermastid beetles. (360) 749-9814  let me know if I'm wrong.

Ive done them myself and Ive had them done with beetles......the ones I did, I poked myself and got blood poisoning (twice).  No more, beetle job is much better finished product and is worth the cost.   :twocents:

I sent a text to Steve at Washougal Taxidermy. 360-609-1902. Mailbox is full. I'll let you know if he responds.

I did a caribou and three bears with beetles when I lived in Alaska, and the stink wasn't too bad at all except from one of the bear skulls, my buddy's who hadn't cleaned out the brain thoroughly beforehand. Lesson learned. The key was to physically remove as much of the soft tissue from the outside as you can first, and let the rest dry to kind of a jerky-like consistency before turning it over to the beetles.
