Flir - Thermal imaging

I used to work for flir and only got a limited amount of exposure to the thermal imaging products. Primarily supported laser designator and laser range finding products for their large gimble systems. I did check out a couple different thermal monoculars though. Their newer products are pretty awesome especially the higher end stuff.

I'd say number one in the industry.  Most all Fire Departments use them.

Look up the reviews on Predator Masters. Kirsh uses/used their thermals.

I use one daily for work and would not use another brand. Hands down the leader in the industry.

took a class/tour at the Billrica Mass. location many years ago with military. Great stuff but as said, you get what you pay for. military grade stuff is $pendy and not in play. IR is wonderful and adjustability/ temp sensitivity is awesome on the "good stuff". you would be surprised at this technology used behind the magic curtains... for a coyote night scope, they would work well, even blood trail tracking with any temp delta (still warmer than surrounding/ground). full disclosure, i have not used the civilian sold scopes but have used some of the hand held devices for work environments. great stuff...

Rec'd the Flir Scout 640... so far it looks like it is going to work real well.... taking it out tonight, after charging last night looked good around the house....

More to the point. I have the pulsar trail xplrf. It is really quite awesome. Works day or night. Can see hot stuff at a mile.

We had a FLIR scope when I was in the fire department.   Used it to find hot spots after structure fires, and underground after a wildland fire.  Worked great.

I heard Teledyne bought them out last week for something like 8 billion.

Never looked through a flir, but pulsar is pretty awesome. I have a pulsar spotter, atn NV scope

We had one at work and I think everyone at one point or another took it home to check for house heat leakage. Kind of disappointing to see how much gets out.
