Wow. That's a lot of bear, especially at 27 yards. Good for her.

Likely at least 10 times her weight.
Well done. If I see a bear 10X my weight, I'm never going back into the woods again.l

Wow, she's either brave beyond belief or just young. If I was 27 yards from that thing, I would certainly would be in the market for a new pair of pants.

A buddy of mine sent me pics of that monster. That's a wow. He knows her gramps well. My hometown is 5 miles from hers. At her age, her parents must have started applying for her possibly when she was born, given how long it takes to draw there. I've been on a couple hunts there with guys who killed some absolute bruisers.

Taken with an AR style rifle no less... That's enough to burn the left as is.
I thought the left screams that there's no use for the AR in hunting? I wonder what chambering her gun is in?
Bottom line: A LOT of hunting success has to do with being in the right place at the right time. Doing everything right does not fill a tag if you're in the wrong place or at the wrong time. The stars aligned for her and Grandpa. I would love to hear an interview from Grandpa detailing what he thought when that angus size bear stepped out at spitting range!

I can just vision her posting for next year's bear season.
"Hunted hard with 'pa over the past two weeks. Saw a few 500 to 600 pounders, but nothing big worth a punching a tag on."
