Straps and buckles
« on: April 20, 2009, 10:37:26 AM »
Just thought I would share a site I found the other day for straps and fasteners.  http://www.strapworks.com  I have nothing to do with the store I was just looking for a plastic safety buckle and some strap to make a belt out of for my nylon shoulder holster.  I got a 2" buckle and 8' of 2" heavyweight webbing and with shipping it came to $6.79.  Pretty good price for me, no minimum quantities and I got it in about 3 days.  Just thought I would pass it on if anyone ever need anything like this.  Might have to update my old backpack with some new buckles.

Here is another site that is great for Straps and buckles. they have a large variety of stuff and you can buy the parts or have them make it for you. I get a lot of stuff from here..

Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

Cool stuff,
I keep a bag of various buckles, straps, quick pins and Velcro, along with heavy duty carpet thread and a large needle just for emergency pack repair or modifications. I always end up doing mods to all the packs I have owned. I also have a storage bin off all the old packs and accessories that I do not use anymore. It is real hard to throw that stuff away, lol

I love good straps on a pack.  I have three 2" wide webbing straps tied onto my packboard.  When I load a quarter onto the frame, I cinch up these 3 straps and I'm ready to pack out in seconds.  It works so much better than trying to keep 15 feet of skinny rope snug.  They hold well on oddball shapes and can be retightened if something shifts or is uncomfortable.  Cheap and works great.
