Opener

Is anyone heading out tomorrow? I'm heading to the basin from the wet side. I was initially planning on heading to the Jameson Lake area and head south to hunt in various places, but the wildlife areas I was interested burned. Not sure where I will hunt (or what areas can be hunted). But it will be great getting out with my setter and shotgun.

Good luck. On my trips east this past summer, quail numbers looked awesome, with tons of coveys with 2 age classes of chicks.

quail numbers are good so if you are after those speedy little suckers, you should have a good time. Fires burned up a lot of good spots but still plenty of areas to get after them

I am going to give the quail and the chukars a scare starting tomorrow. I am going to work around the Wenatchee, Ephrata area and hope to run across a few. The warm temperatures will keep me from hunting throughout the day, early mornings will be best, I think.

Yes, Moses Lake is supposed to hit 84. I won't be running my setter in temps that high.
