No time in the woods is wasted!!

🤨 obviously you were doing it wrong if that’s your experience. Blackie huntin can be pretty rewarding if it’s done right. I’ll nominate that for one of the strangest posts of the year. :dunno:

Not worth it? You are doing it for the wrong reasons. You are also the kind of person that gets hunters as whole labeled in a negative manner.  :twocents:

There are plenty open lands. Some of the best blacktail hunting is on state land. I find blacktail hunting very rewarding.

Because posts like this make me smile when I go out and look at the mature Blacktail bucks I’ve harvested. I feel like I might know what the heck I doing out there 😂

I'll be back blacktail hunting next year for the first time in 15 years. Looking forward to it. Its definitely different than hunting the eastside but I miss it.. Do you mean 135 to have it cut and wrapped?

Different strokes for different folks.  As long as it is legal I am fine with whatever another hunter chooses to do.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

The only reason I haven't tried it is because it looks like a ton of work! Anyone that hunts them has my respect.

1.  Breech an open timber gate??
 2.  Rabbit deer?

1.  It sounds like you were somewhere in a vehicle you weren't supposed to be?  Or if you were on foot, why the need to run out?  Or maybe you were entirely somewhere you weren't supposed to be?   Regardless, any of the above would certainly detract from the experience.

2.  I don't find blacktails to be rabbit deer.  I've killed plenty with bigger bodies than some of the whitetails I've shot in my life.  They aren't corn fed midwest whitetails but they are plenty big enough imo.

So, can I ask, what was the purpose of your post before I make some incorrect assumptions?

Don’t go
They are thin horned scrawny little deer
I’d recommend you go for whitetail
 :chuckle:

Super nice rebuttal to the sour grapes.  I'm still wondering where the word "costed" is in the dictionary.  I looked, but.......

So enlighten us, were you illegally hunting behind the "timber gate", or did you just drive behind a gate that was closed, and you did not have the "legality" to drive behind  :dunno:
