No Excuses Bullets

While looking for a close range destroyer, I came across the No Excuses bullet line. Bought the 600 and 500 grain in .503 for a Knight Bighorn. Dave sells them in various sizes and offers variety packs.

The 600 grain stabilizes very well and hits HARD! Recoil is no joke but the Knight is well built and makes recoil management fine. Bullet is easy to start but snug in the rifling. 80 grains volume/63 by weight of Triple Se7en 3FG and a #11 cap was the clear winner for accuracy and repeatability.

I like they have a sizing pack of .050 to .055 on .001 steps so you can order perfect fit.

What’s the advantage of these bullets over a solid copper? I grew up hunting elk with 500g lead powerbelts and there performance sucked. The newer solid coppers are sure great.

Do I go big or towards the opposite end of the sprectrum to this .45 bullet that shoots out past 300 yards

Being able to hunt Idaho 

Definitely isn't a perfect do it all muzzleloader bullet especially when states rules are taken into consideration. I agree that the Powerbelts leave something to be desired in performance. If they'd make a thicker copper jacket...

Any idea what you’re getting for velocity?

I bought the trial pack and was disappointed. Lube was half falling out. The bases were not sharp but dinged. Just a bad experience and no excuse for me to buy more. Try Bullshop in Saco Montana.

I've ordered and shot from BullShop before. Definitely nothing wrong with them.

Sucks about your trial pack. I've got 5 boxes and every bullet looks like the one in MW picture above. Lube perfectly packed and bullets tightly contained.

Has anybody tried the No Excuses Sabots?  Either the boat tail or the flat base?
