Youth deer 133
« on: October 11, 2020, 07:46:30 AM »
Heading to gmu 136 for our groups 2nd deer tag and we are taking my niece who just passed hunter safety this year. The biologist was giving me some advice and was going to draw me a map for gmu 133 of where to take her for a whitetail doe but after the Swanson lake fire the biologist has not been able to get back to me. Curious if anyone has any info on gmu 133 for whitetail? I have the OnX chip so see there is a small bit of public land. Any info would be greatly appreciated just trying to make it a great trip for he first hunt.&

Looks like there are a few “hunt by written permission” spots out there.  Unfortunately that means a long drive from Graham to go get the contact info off the placard.  Maybe a member on here lives closer.

We have a place just north of Wilbur.  We have been trying to secure some private land to hunt deer on for almost 5 years now.  Not many landowners are willing to allow anyone to hunt.  A lot of them already have people they have allowed or lease their land already and they aren't taking on any more hunters.  I haven't hunted the HBWP areas yet.  But we have hunted in the small tracts of state and BLM lands we find on OnX.  Good luck to you guys!

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset

I have one of the few “hunt brothers written permission” lands in 133, give me a pm and let’s talk, and get something figured out
