First time hunters
« on: October 12, 2020, 06:39:33 PM »
Who all is taking a first time hunter out this weekend? I am taking my 9 year old daughter out with her muley doe tag. We have quite a few pieces of private land to hunt, to say I’m excited is an understatement! I’ve been waiting for this day since she was born! She has really been putting in the work practicing, if her nerves don’t get the best of her, no doubt she can execute the shot. Good luck to all!

I’ll be taking my 12 year old son out for his first season. He will be shooting off of the same tripod as your daughter. Unfortunately we are stuck hunting the westside so he won’t see as many deer. Hopefully we can find a dumb one to stick around long enough for a shot.

Best of luck to you all.  I'll be trying to take my young ones out for ride-alongs and short hikes as I get to know the area, time permitting.

That is what it's all about, I really enjoy taking new hunters out in the field. Gonna be a long 8 years waiting for my 7 month old daughter to be able to be hunting by my side in the field. Best of luck Bugleblaster and hope she gets on some deer!

Is that the Thompson Center 6.5 creedmoor? Looks like the one I bought at bimart and my daughter will be using it this weekend.

Taking myself out this weekend as a first time hunter to look for a mule deer. Not sure if I'd call it hunting, I'll have a more successful weekend if I just say I'm going out there to walk around with a rifle.

Im still new but this year im taking both my boys (10&12). Im also taking a buddy who has hunted his whole life and his boy.  He’s new to washington from Id so not sure how much fun he’ll have.  My first time hunting with anyone period and look forward to getting coached up.  3 boys im sure will keep the stealth to a minimum 😂.  We’re planning a Nov hunt without the kids too.  This ones all about keeping them happy and having fun.

Good for you man! I have been trying to get my eleven year old into it but she absolutely loves deer. As in she told me she probably could not shoot one. When we see deer her eyes light up like an excited sponge bob. I am going to tread lightly with it so that maybe she does want to hunt them some day. Good luck with her doe hunt!
