Today while deer hunting (west side ) I happened upon a cougar and wasn’t able to get a shot off before it slipped off the road (gated road)and into thick cover. What are the chances of seeing it again in the same area? Any suggestions for upping those odds. I really don’t want it hammering the deer in this area
You should have followed it right away. There's a decent chance that it's still there, especially if it has a kill nearby. It's worth a shot to get the caller out and try.
Thanks for all the reply’s. The place it went was pretty impassable for a human with a lot of blowdown and very thick brush. I didn’t see any way to get a look at it at all. I do plan to keep trying though

And you'll never hear them in there... it's almost impossible... but they go silent!Check the Call-in Story Page on my website... might get some insights.
