Cougar Quota 2020
« on: October 27, 2020, 08:38:12 AM »
Where can I find the exact 2020 cougar quota number for each unit. All I can find is if it’s open or closed.

Page 69 of the big game regulations (The cougar general seasons page) provides the total quota limit for each GMU.

If you are asking how to check the current number of cougars that have been taken in each GMU....and how many "slots" are still open, i don't know that.

Both, but yeah the current up to date online numbers was the one I was looking for most importantly.

I don't think they bother publishing that 'til later in the year, near the end of December. Typically it doesn't come into play until Jan 1.

They dont publish the current numbers.  They just publish open or closed after dec 31st.  Final numbers get published in the spring.  Its open through dec 31st no matter what though, so no need to worry about it in october.

Thanks guys! There’s a particular area in the 101 I have a plan for in December. During modern after it snowed it looked like a cougar zoo in there and that was after a guy already took one out in the same week. Thanks again.

It is a cougar zoo, the whole northeast region is.  Im sure ill be calling in 101 again this year but im going to mostly focus locally here in 121.  Theres just no real need for me to drive to a different county to hunt cats.  May as well save gas money.
