Stalking Shoe/Sock?

I have a late archery hunt coming up that will be spot and stalk on the eastside. I have been thinking about ways to cover my feet on a stalk w/out my boots on. This will be sage country with plenty of thorny, prickly, seedy scrub brush so I would prefer not to be in my socks alone.  What has worked for you? I am considering a neoprene wading sock or wetsuit bootie. I have heard of putting and insole in a heavy sock and putting that on over regular socks. I've also heard of slippers working too. Just curious what people have found to be effective. Thanks!

I use two pairs of Smart wool hunting socks, the thickest ones they have, you have to look a little harder to find the "hunter style" though.  Even in snow they are fine, you just take the first layer off and put your boots back on when done.  Well worth it....

Nothing special for me other then wool socks or other heavier then athletic white style socks. I get to within 75 yds, take my hunting/hiking shoes off, and spend about 45-60 minutes feeling way way over every twig, rock and crunchy bit of grass for last 50 yards.

I dont know if its the adrenaline or what, but my feet do not seem to get cold in these circumstances. Then of course if its below 20 degrees, which it rarely seems to be, I probably will not de-shoe.

LL Bean Boots - "Swampers"    You can feel sticks, just roll your foot. Down side is walking gravel roads. You'l find yourself paralleling the road so your feet don't get bruised.

I bought a set of the bama socketts and a pair of 7mm neoprene wading shoes with a rubberized sole. Both seem like they will serve their purpose bht I am concerned the bamas will collect burs/seeds. We'll see bow it goes. Thanks for tips all!

used the Stalkasins the last 2 years.
undo, remove my Kennetreks, slip on the leather slippers over my socks. OH, and GPS waypoint the boots drop off. One time a stalk took me 1/4mile, thanks to gps easy to find boots later.
best archery stalking footwear I ever used. Very little wear is hardly noticeable on sole 2 years later. Used in UT, NM and AZ. Lots of sticky stuff, nothing penetrated the Stalkasin slipper (moccasins).

like so much, bought a 2nd pair as reserve. Just due to young fella making these, if he chooses to not make anymore.

I'm looking at the big fat Christmas house-socks that the stores have on display right now.  Get a pair in extra large and slip your feet right in.  You might be able to get a pair that aren't too obnoxious in their pattern.

Otherwise I'd just slip on some of my aqua socks.

I am hunting right now and all this week. Today I used Cressi neoprene wading boots in 7mm thickness. They worked great! Very quiet and thick enough to keep the prickly stuff at bay. They did not however improve my accuracy and I missed a great buck at 60yds.
